All The Possibilities [Thanatos/Pandora]

Her body moved quickly as she galloped from her little safe haven to the meadow that she had found before. She was hungry and she wants to be sure that she could be seen where ever she was. She wanted to find a home, and possibly a mate just as cynical as her, but things never come in twos for her. Her overo patterned coat shined as the sun beat down on her and her sweat showed on her body as well. She slowed when she actually reached the meadow and she came to a dead stop when all she saw was green. It had been night the last time that she was here, and she thought that the sight was beautiful, but then, she was not like all mares either. She stomped her hoof then and she trotted forward until she felt like stopping. When she did stop, she let her brown eyes survey the land in front of her. It was all green and she did not mind that. She lowered her dome to the ground and she pulled a few clumps of grass from it. She lazily ate the grass then and she shifted so that her weight was off of her front left leg. The fight with the cougar may have been a while back, but it still hurt her. She was alone when she had been attacked and she was sure that she did not take care of it correctly. She flicked her tail to rid herself of the flies that decided to land on her rump and she pulled up another clump of grass. She ate a few more clumps then and when she was good, she lowered her dome to the ground and kept it there. She sighed lightly and closed her eyes.. No matter what, she would hear another join her, and she would be ready for a fight. She was never ready to lose one. She let her auds catch every little sound that came to her and she let her muzzle take in all the smells around her. She got a lit of freshness from the grass in her nose and she relaxed a little bit. She kept her weight from her front left leg and she let her mind wander as well. Princess Gemini with Thanatos

Daggers tore into the soft ground as the seventeen hand tall ebony hellion galloped at a brisk pace into The Meadow. This was his first time coming here, but he had heard rumor that this is where mares or other equines seeking a herd would gather in hopes of being claimed for a herd. So that was his hope, that he could stumble upon some poor little wench so that he could have her come with him to join his new herd, Elysian Fields, as a brood mare. A worthless little wench with one sole purpose on this planet: to lend out her womb, to be at his beck and call anytime he felt the need to plant his seed somewhere, to carry on his genes to the next generation. Thanatos was definitely not the most pleasant of equines, especially when it came to mares. Oh how he despised and hated them. Why? Well, he wasn't even sure of that answer to that question. Maybe it had something to do with the way his mother had died when he was so young, deep down he probably felt as if she had abandoned not only him but also his twin sister. And then to be found and adopted by another herd...so cruel and ruthless, teaching him to hate mares, that they only had one purpose and that was to bear foals. So now that he was a lead stallion of his own herd, he needed to find some mares to bear his foals.

As he wandered the land, his pace slowed to a trot instead of a gallop. Thanatos was alert, listening and watching for any sign of trouble. You never know where a predator might be lurking, or when another stallion pumped up on testosterone might want to pick a fight. So it was better to be on the safe side and be alert at all times. Nostrils flared as the scent of another equine wafted into them. The scent of a mare. A cruel smirk spread across his lips and Thanatos adjusted his route to head in that direction. It didn't take long for the painted mare to come into view, munching on the grass so blissfully unaware that the devil himself lurked nearby. Or maybe she did sense or smell him by now. Either way, it was much too late for her. She was his, whether she liked it or not. Clearing his throat to announce his presence, Thanatos walked forward toward her, coming into plain view. Lovely day for a stroll and a nice little snack, eh? Vocals sounded in his usual cold and emotionless voice, the type of voice that could send chills down your spine.

Thanatos watched her for several minutes before he lowered his own dial to the ground, chomping at the grass and taking a mouthful. Chewing, he looked back up at her, watching her with eyes so dark brown that they appeared to be almost black. The eyes of one who has seen too much, been through too much, and just simply uncaring and cruel. A sociopath is probably what he would be labeled as, even as a young foal. But who cares really? Whats the point of such labels? Just because he wasn't afraid to take what he wanted when he wanted it...why, he was only acting on the urges far too many equines wished and dreamed they could do but were simply too scared. So how about we skip the bullshit formalities and you come with me as my new little wench? Swallowing the grass he had been chewing in one gulp, Thanatos spoke again, icy tones cutting through the silence like a knife. A cruel smirk had spread halfway across his velveteen muzzle as he continued to watch her.

Her nostrils caught the scent of the stag before she heard him coming up. She knew that she could be forced to join a herd and the stag could do whatever he wants, but this mare was not going to go willingly, at least not without her own conditions added in. Her auds flicked behind her though to make sure that he was alone, but just by his scent, he was alone, and he had lands. She did not move though and she waited for his action. She was on edge though already, for she knew he probably had intentions other than that of making her an honest mare in his herd. When he did approach, she did not even look up. She was pushing her luck already, and she knew it, but she loved to play her own games, and her games proved to keep her entertained for a long while. Her auds wrapped around his vocals though and she flicked her tail. She snorted at the emotionless sounds in his vocals and she shook her head before lifting her nape. She looked at him then and she took in his color, size, and build. He was a handsome ebony stag, but she could already tell that he was more like her than could be told by his vocals. She then decided that her own vocals should penetrate the air as well. "A lovely day it might be, but not so much a lovely day for emotions." She let her orbs advert to his own and her brown eyes held her standing and her stubbornness. She was not going to be forced into anything today, at least, not unless she gets what she wants. She watched as he took a clump of the grass and she kept her ground and her height. She was not going to back down. She could tell by the look in his eyes, that he has seen much, but so has she. He spoke once more though, and she snorted a laugh. "How about you listen to this handsome." She did not move, but she did not stand down. She stared him in the eyes though. "I am not a mare you can claim as a wench. I am a mare who has her own standings." She paused for a moments then and smirked herself. "I do not make a wench, but I make a queen. So either I join in my own ranking, or you move on." Her vocals did not hold her emotions, but they did hold her determination to get what she wants and when she wants it. "A lovely day it might be, but not so much a lovely day for emotions." The unknown mare's vocals reached Thanatos' perked audits. He did not react, merely let the words roll off of him. They didn't matter. She didn't matter. Not much anyway. All she was good for was her womb, that was all he was interested in. Thanatos had a primal need to spread his genes as far and wide as he could, to impregnate as many mares as possible. This wasn't his first rodeo. Thanatos had been down this road plenty of times, and he always got what he wanted in the end. Lowering his dial, Thanatos took another mouthful of grass, raising his dial and looking back at her with eyes filled with such disdain. She was a worthless mare, and her words meant nothing to him.


Thanatos continued to silently watch the painted mare, curious to see what her next move would be. He did not even know her name, but in the end her name did not matter. He wouldn't care to remember it even if she had told him. But he thought that perhaps he should properly introduce himself, maybe that would do the trick to get what he wanted. But just as he was about to speak, he heard the mares vocals break the silence. "How about you listen to this handsome." Harks pinned to his skull for a fraction of a second. Nobody ever dared to tell him anything, they always just did as he told them to. "I do not make a wench, but I make a queen. So either I join in my own ranking, or you move on." Nobody had ever dared to speak to him that way, but it amused him slightly.A slight smirk spread across his velveteen kissers and a slight chuckle escaped his voice box. "She's got guts, I'll give her that..." Thanatos mumbled quietly to himself. A mare like her would be a necessity within his herd, he would need a good and strong mare, both physically and mentally, to bear his offspring, his heirs. He always hoped to find a mare quite like himself in personality for such a task, an heir out of just any mare would not do at all. Maybe she was up to the task. Still, he was not about to give her such a position in the herd so quickly. She needed to prove herself to him.


Thanatos watched her with eyes so dark brown they appeared too be pitch black, and it was only in certain light that you could tell they even were brown. The painted mare would not be able to prove herself over night. It could take days, weeks, months...who knows. All he knew was that he didn't just want her to join his herd, to carry his heirs, he needed her to. After several long, silent, minutes, Thanatos decided to finally introduce himself. "My cursing is Thanatos, my name means "death". I am named for the Greek God of Death. I am Lord over Elysian Fields, and you will join me in my herd." Thanatos watched her, waiting to see what her reaction to his introduction might be, waiting for her to tell him she was not going to join him. We'll see about that. Thought Thanatos as he chuckled slightly to himself. In the end, he always got what he wanted.

She watched him after he spoke and she knew that he paid no mind to her words. She smirked lightly then and she lowered her nape to take a mouthful of the grass. She munched on it as she waited for anything, but nothing came. He seemed to be thinking. But when he did speak, his vocals got a slight reaction from her before she hid her own emotions once more. He wanted to play with no emotions, she could play that game as well. When she spoke though, she watched and judged his reactions. He was not used to having a doe talk back to him, she could tell by the way his auds pinned back. She smiled fully then and she waited for his true response after her own. She kept her ground and lifted her dome a little more. She stared him in the eyes and she smiled lightly. She was enjoying this a little more than she probably should be, but she was. He murmured something to himself, and she strained to hear it but just couldn't She did not make a move to show that she was trying to get in on his thoughts though. She was playing her mind games, and she knew that he was playing his own. The bi colored mare flicked her tail then out of slight boredom. This conversation and meeting seemed to be slowly down and going no where. Her auds flicked to him though when his vocals came to her and she looked at him. She did not know what was about to happen right now and she watched him. Thanatos, not bad. She nodded her dome then and when she finished her dome was right back in her own challenging position. "And mine is Pandora." She did not mention anything on the herd part though. Instead she thought on it. "A herd, would be nice, but what would I get from it?" Her vocals made their way back to him with her challenging motion once more. Princess Gemini with Thanatos

Thanatos heard the mare speak of her calling, and he felt his heart beat erratically for a moment, almost as if in a panic. He did not let these emotions show, or at least he hoped he didn't. "And mine is Pandora." The mare had spoken and her words were played over and over again in his think-box. Dark optics were incredibly wide, his breathing was quick and shallow. At the mention of her name, Thanatos was drawn back to when he was a foal, when he had had a twin sister...a twin sister named Pandora. This mare looked nothing like his twin sister, but he had not thought of her in years and presumed her to be dead. So the mention of his twin's name opened old wounds, wounds he had never admitted to anybody or to himself even existed. She had been the only female he had ever cared for. But she had been frail and weak. Thanatos had been the first born twin, he was strong and was on his feet within a few hours of birth, but his sister was incredibly small and weak, she struggled to get to her feet for hours but couldn't manage to stay up for more than a few seconds. Knees would quake, she would collapse onto the ground, panting heavily and then she would fall into a deep slumber from the exhaustion of her efforts. When she finally did manage to get to her feet to nurse, she was unable to stand long enough to get much milk or nutrition. She was quickly wasting away. Failure to thrive, that is what their father had called her. She was finally strong enough to walk short distances, but running...forget about it. So when they were two months old and their herd was attacked by a pack of wolves, she hadn't stood a chance. So Thanatos did the only thing he could have done in that situation...he ran away. Survival of the fittest. From that moment on, he knew that if he ever sired a foal that was weak or sick then he would kill them. It would be doing them a kindness. If his father had had the guts to end his sisters life then it would have saved her a life of pain and suffering.


Thanatos forced himself back to the present. This mare was not the Pandora. She was not his sister. But he felt a slight fondness for her at the knowledge of her name, maybe because of the sad memory of his twin sister who had suffered so much in her short life only to end up dying anyway. "A herd, would be nice, but what would I get from it?" Of course this mare wanted something out of it. Who wouldn't? He knew that she did not seem the type to be forced to do something that she did not want to do, and he didn't really want to force her. Maybe it was the fact that she shared the same name as his twin sister, maybe it was just her attitude that he was coming to respect. She challenged him, didn't just give in to what he wanted. True, he was used to getting what he wanted when he wanted it, but sometimes it was nice to change things up, and he liked a challenge from time to time. "You would have a herd and protection." Thanatos finally spoke, slowly but loud enough to be clearly heard. And if you prove yourself worthy, perhaps my queen. I need a queen." Thanatos finished speaking, watching her intently to see what her reaction would be.

She saw his reaction to her name and she could smell his panic. She was happy, but oddly, worried as well. Did she just scare the stag who she had been challenging? If she did, what is with this anomaly, this should not have happened. He should have just said some snark remark about her name and went on with their conversation. Instead, he seemed to have been sucked into the past. She flicked her tail in irritation then and she stomped a hoof. She was not going to allow this duke to stay in la la land forever, she wanted to talk and she wanted to see what all she would get out of joining him. Yes, she was demanding, and most did not like that, but she loved it. She liked getting what she wanted, and she would get what she wants right here and now. A herd that will be her, even if it takes a while, and a home. Hell, some spawn of her own would be nice as well. She noticed that he finally checked back to the present and she shook her dome as she waited for him to speak from her own remark. She knew that her own irritation could be seen, and she kind of wanted that. She had frightened the duke, and if she could do that with her name, something was wrong. When he finally spoke, her satellites wrapped around his words and she smiled once more. "That my dear lord, sounds like a deal I just might take." Her vocals held her determination and she heard his last remark and she snorted lightly. "Handsome, I can prove myself worthy before any wench you decide to claim." She pride and ego was starting to show a little, but she did not let the full amount of them show. Princess Gemini with Thanatos

"That my dear lord, sounds like a deal I just might take." Thanatos smirked slightly as her vocals reached her perked audits. He hoped he was making the right decision by offering to let her stay in his herd as a protected and valued member, maybe even future queen of Elysian Fields. Most mares he claimed would be of the lowest rank, mares with one sole purpose: to lend out their womb, to bear his foals. Very few would be treated with respect, or given a position of important or (almost) treated as his equals. In fact, there would likely only be one mare who would be treated that way, and that would be his queen. Sure, he might have a beta mare and daughters, but even they would not be treated quite as well as the queen. She would have to live up to his standards, of course. And she would have to give him an heir. The heir would not be the first born foal, but rather the strongest and healthiest, the one most like him, the largest...any of his foals born from the queen were eligible to become heir, and future leader of Elysian Fields. Any colts, anyway. The fillies would rank low, until they proved themselves and maybe then he would assign them a higher rank.


"I can prove myself worthy before any wench you decide to claim." Thanatos heard Pandora's vocals once more, taking in her words. The seventeen hand ebony brute did not respond right around, he just mulled over the words in his think-box, trying to decide exactly how to respond. So far, she had shown herself that she was not a pushover, she would not allow anybody to tell her what to do. That could be both a good trait and a bad trait for his queen, but he thought it lied more on the good trait side. After all, she would need to be able to be his second in command, and that meant dealing with the herd when he was not around. The stag wanted a mare as queen who would not give in to another equine when he was not around, she would need to be strong and confident. Plus, she needed to be able to put up with Thanatos, and she seemed like the type who was capable of putting up with his attitude.

"I have one requirement of a mare who is to be my Queen," Thanatos spoke slowly, watching her with his dark and beady eyes. "she must bear my foals, she must bear them until I get one whom I can train as my heir. This could be the first foal or the fixth, or so on. Would you be willing to take on this challenge?" Not every mare would want to push out so many foals, but Thanatos was desperate to spread his genes as well as finding an heir. At seven years old, he was in his prime but he knew this wouldn't last forever.

She noticed his smirk and she let him think. She knew that she was going to have to prove herself still, and that she did not mind at all. It just meant that she got to fight some more and show that she would not take shit from anyone. She honestly did not demand respect right off the bat, hell, she barely gave anyone respect, why would she demand it? She flicked her ears behind her as she heard a noise. She then saw a squirrel run past the two of them and she snorted at it which made it run faster. She let her emotions fly through her head, but no sign of them showed up on her facade. She thought of being in a herd and having a home, but she did not know if that was going to be a good or bad home. She thought of one day having her own spawnletts running around the lands and she thought of protecting those spawnletts. A smile flashed on her facade before her ears faced the stud once more. "Would you be willing to take on this challenge?" She smiled once more then and she looked him in her orbs. She took a step closer to him then before she spoke her response. "If it means that I can have my own spawn on this earth causing as much trouble as I have, then you have your Queen." She stated her wish and she watched him for any movement. She was not scared to have foals. She wants to have them. She wants to have a filly that she can train and have her be worse than herself. She already had a name for that child as well, she just needed the curse. "I have one clause. If I find a filly that can be my own heir, than I will be able to take her and train her as I wish, just as you would do for your own heir." Her vocals held her sternness that proved that she was not going to back away from this part of the deal. She was going to get that child of her's, and she will have her trained the way she wants, and how she wants her trained. Princess Gemini with Thanatos

"If it means that I can have my own spawn on this earth causing as much trouble as I have, then you have your Queen." Thanatos heard the mare speak, and a smirk spread across his velveteen lips. Perfect. She had agreed to his terms, she would become his Queen and give him his heir. The thought made him feel incredibly pleased. He didn't even have to "persuade" her like he normally would. No force, she would become a herd member of her own free will. What more could he ask for? A healthy and strong colt, of course, but they would get to that later. "I have one clause. If I find a filly that can be my own heir, than I will be able to take her and train her as I wish, just as you would do for your own heir." Thanatos heard Pandora speak again, he did not speak for some time but merely watched her intently. So, the mare knew how to play his games? Very well then. If that was what she wanted then so be it. But he had his own conditions.


"I will grant you this request. You may raise and train a filly as you see fit. He spoke thoughtfully, pausing for a few moments to think of his next words. "So long as you are okay with the disposal of the sickly or weak foals. Only the strong and healthy can survive." Maybe it was cold hearted and brutal, but Thanatos saw it as more of a kindness. This world was already so cruel and cold for healthy foals, it was damn near impossible to survive to adulthood if you're already impaired in some way. Why allow a sickly foal to be a burden on the parents when it would likely die soon anyway? He didn't know whether he would kill them himself or just abandon them and let nature handle things. If they beat the odds and survived then so be it, but at least they would not be a burden on him. He only wanted the strongest and healthiest foals.


It was a cruel world. Survival of the fittest. He truly hoped that his new Queen understood that, and would be willing to comply with his wishes. "Will you accept those terms?" He finally broke the silence, hoping she would agree and then they could begin trying to conceive a foal that would be healthy, strong and capable of continuing his genetic line through the generations to come. Audits were held alert, waiting for her response.

A smirk appeared on his kissers and she smirked in response as well. She probably surprised him a bit by her just agreeing to come to the herd willingly, but she also gave her own clauses. She watched him after she stated her last clause and she waited. She smiled fully when he agreed to her clause, and then one more popped up. "So long as you are okay with the disposal of the sickly or weak foals. Only the strong and healthy can survive." She looked at him and she did not show any kind of remorse when she went to speak right now. She did not care, for he had a point. Only the strong could survive, the weak had no place in this world. The world did not need anything that could take a weak foal. She would be lucky if this world would not take her strong foals. She wants to make sure that the herd could strive, and she knew that she would she agreed with the fact that she needed strong spawns and not the weak, like her parents thought she was. "That I do not mind, this world does not need anymore weak equines." She responded to him after he broke that silence. She flicked her tail lightly when a fly started to bother her rump and she waited for him to speak after her agreement. Princess Gemini with Thanatos

"That I do not mind, this world does not need anymore weak equines." Thanatos nodded in response to Pandora's vocals. Good, she was completely on board then. Less for him to have to worry about then, she would not fight him on the issue. Of course, there was always time for her to change and fight him on the issue, but he would cross that bridge if he came to it. Pregnancy hormones can do a lot to a mare, and he had no way of knowing for sure if she was just all talk or if she truly meant it and would stick to her word. But for now, Thanatos decided not to dwell on those doubts. All he could do for now was take her at her word and hope she was being one hundred percent truthful. "Good. I would like to start trying for both of our heirs right away." Thanatos spoke sternly, letting her know that he was not about to wait. He wanted his heir as soon as possible, he wanted to spread his genes.


Audits were perked, swiveling in every direction as he listened for any sign of approaching hooves. So far, it seemed as if they were completely alone and he hoped to keep it that way. Especially if he was about to plant his seed within her womb. Not that he cared if another equine saw him with her, but he would still prefer to avoid such awkwardness. Of course, he would wait for her say so before doing anything. He might be a cruel and sadistic bastard, but he was no rapist and would always make sure his mares fully consented before breeding with them. There were reasons for this, of course. The main reason being that he did not want any mare he bred with to decide to rid herself of the offspring due to it being the result of him forcing himself on her. He doubted she would do such a thing, since she had already agreed to his other terms, but it was the principle that he lived by and he was not about to change his ways now.


Thoughts drifted back to his herd. Elysian Fields, and he thought of filling his herd lands with little foals. He would train them practically since birth, as soon as they were capable of standing on their own for any amount of time. These foals would need to prove to him that they were strong, healthy and capable of living up to his standards. If not then he might just decide that they were too weak, not what he wanted to carry on his genetic line. His line would be passed on through the generations. The strongest would earn a place among the high ranks of his herd, they would be privileged and allowed to breed with mares of their own, to pass on their genetic lines. Any of his offspring who were healthy but not quite up to par with his standards of strength and ability would be permitted to live, but they would be treated as dirt and would not be allowed breeding rights. Thanatos could envision it all now, and he was anxious to begin spreading his genes through the generations.

She knew that for now that she would not fight him, and honestly, she had no thoughts of fighting him about it, even after having the foals. But then, hormones can change a mare. She just hoped that it would not change her. She did not want to go against her word and show him that she can not be trusted. That was something she was not in the mood to do or deal with later on. She was torn from her thoughts though when Thanatos spoke then and she looked at him "Not wasting any time are you?" She laughed and she lowered her dome lightly to let him now that she did not mind the rush. It just meant that one of them could get the heir that they wanted. She noticed that he looked around and she did not hear anything either. Guess that would be a good thing if private things were about to happen right now right? She could see another equine coming up and wondering why this was happening and why she was becoming queen if there were no feelings between the two. Sometimes feelings develop later on, and sometimes, it is just for the power. Princess Gemini with Thanatos
